That was an odd one ... all about wavelengths I guess. Kinda feel my solve belongs in a parallel universe.

Aside from clues like 1a that I have never heard of, I think there are some really clever clues here. I really like 25d and 11a type clues. They are especially satisfying when you get them. I'm not sure I fully get how 4d parses.

But right now I'm totally stuck in the NE. A little hint for either 5a or 13a would be helpful. I just can't see what they're getting at at all.

5 parses as 3, 3, 1. Defn. "stay away from".

13 involves doubly esoteric GK. Parses as a reversed 3 followed by a 5-letter anagram, defn. "the cash". I needed Google to verify my guess, clue was my LOI by far.

5a parses 3,3,1 ... definition is stay away’ ... might want to think of the summer game back in the day
13a parses 3,5 ... bit of scrambling of a word in the clue and of another word for a word in the clue ... it needs a fair bit of GK in the right area to be sure of the solution

Thanks geeker. So obvious when you know. I'm hoping that will get me over the line

Thanks also offspin. All done now. I'll let myself off on 13a and 6d having not heard of either of them before.

COD has to be 11a I think even if it did prompt a lot of soul searching on here.

Hi Rocky I think 4 d parses as 8 letter word for worker then remove the “r”. Def is stones. I still cant see how 11d parses albeit my answer fits ???
