Thank you Rog.
Misled by thinking "revolutionary" was an anagrind and CH for China??
As for 25 ac is "up" a valid anagrind?

I enjoyed this. But it was tough because I couldn't get going. I also looked for clever word play in some cases where the solution was actually far more straightforward. E.g. 24a. But thanks to Brockwell for an interesting challenge.

Having said that, I'm not done yet. 8a is not solved yet. I remember X-man in a previous puzzle but I can't remember what it meant.

24A straightforward? That and 12A are my last two to go. I have ?r?c? for 24A and ?g?n?a for 12A. Help appreciated!

Hi again, quocunque
I think you are right to question CH for Chinese as it should be Swiss. So either this is arguably an error or I’m missing something.
‘Up’ is occasionally used as an anagrind, but I’ve never worked out (or I’ve forgotten) why it is acceptable as such.
