Also 15a is an anagram of a type of pickle I think, plus an extra s.

Can anyone explain the reasoning behind the clues with no spaces between words such as 12d. There was one in last week's prize and again yesterday and now today. But it doesn't seem to be needed in the clue.

Rocky, I see no missing spaces in 12d on the Guardian cryptic page. Could it be a matter of Grauniads in the app (which I don't use)?

Possibly it is geeker. On my app it reads 'PhoneEmpireabout'.
