And because 18A was for me unsolvable without that lookup, my last entry was 19D which I could not until now see how to put "Everyman" in it "thrice". Talk about devious!

Long time lurkers first time contributors!

25a stumped us, and I admit we had to look it up and work backwards.

Fin's COD - 20a (for clue efficiency!)
Jim's COD - 6d (made her laugh)

Jim only knew 4a because she played the Sims... maybe more of a US term?

Thanks Everyman for always keeping our Sundays cryptic :-)

Welcome, Jim ‘n Fin!
Chambers doesn’t specifically attribute 4a to the US and it suggests it is equally applicable as a term for a boyfriend.
I’ve tended to hear it only in the sense of partners “going .…..” rather than as a noun.

Amongst many others, I have no idea how you get the solution to 19d.

I’ve googled half the answers.

Hi Druh, you need to think of three different ways that Everyman might refer to himself and then insert a single letter for temperature into the mix. Definition is being old…
