I think I've misunderstood you, geeker - it was the 2 letters used as a recognised alternative to the first word I was hoping for (and only because a search with that takes me straight to the real thing every time). But not to worry, it's good to know we have the same idea (it's just a niggle}.

I'd *never* seen the 2-letter version of the first word, only the 6-letter phonetic representation. In fact, I'm surprised that Google returns such clear results based on the 2-letter rep!
