Interesting clue, though I think it would have been fairer to include an indication of the spoken element, e.g. ‘with vibration removed it’s reported’ etc

I’m with you on that, Jono. It’s asking rather a. lot for a Jumbo clue as written

I'm finding this so, so hard, and no wonder now I've seen the solution to the dreadful 44d.

These two would give me a few first letters, which may help.

1a Vexed question, so one you'll address to yourself? (9)
????l????

6a Man with the minimum required to make it (8,5)
??e???o? ??a??

I think - guess - that the whole clue is the definition. This puzzle was a struggle, I just bunged in some of the answers.

I don’t do the puzzle, but could 1a be SOLILOQUY ? A reference to Hamlet’s “to be or not to be”, I presume, if I’m right

1a: SOLILOQUY. An anagram (“vexed”) of Q (“question”), SO, I (“one”) and YOU’LL.

A real toughie this time! A long way to go, but can someone help with these clues? -
9 Down - "With fuel exhausted , article locked in safe"
It looks like OUT OF THE W.... but I can't see the last 4-letter word.
34 Down - "Finally got confession from American culprit, covering against theft? (6-5). I only have "T" as the first letter.
33 Down - "Gesture in vain, indicating place to park the Rover?
This is 4 words (3,2,3,4) and all I have is -A- A- --- -O--.

9d looks like OUT OF THE WOOD, though I’d usually expect to see it in the plural.
33d looks like BAY AT THE MOON. Parking bay, I think a rover is a lunar craft
