I (partially) got the theme via 26, though the parsing involved GK I lacked and Google was required to confirm.

Brendan, 5 parses as a straightforward charade: 1, 4, 2, 1. I should have gotten it much faster, but fixated on an incorrect 4.

Same here Geeker, that and 12a but, Philistine that I am, I'd never heard of the country house and needed Google to confirm.

5d - Thanks Geeker, that's what I have but I couldn't find it in any of the wordsearch sites but it is in the FreeOnlineDictionary so that'll do:-)

Brendan, since you hadn't heard of the country house, I (who hadn't either) feel less ashamed. 🤣

I have a feeling we won't be the only ones who haven't heard of that particular house, Geeker:-)

That's interesting about the origin of the football ground, I didn't know that.

I have a good few and the theme, I think, on a first read through but will have to wait for it to appear in the app or online as I’m away from home and don’t have access to a printer.

Btw, the url for the pdf is always in the same format, so you usually just need to change the date at the end. Midweek the word ‘prize’ is changed to ‘cryptic’.
