A very quick and easy grid fill but I am unsure that my answer for 36 means 'restrain' . Have checked all the crossers I have 'O' for 3rd letter in 30d which could be wrong

Knowing nothing about the theme I relied on the Wiki page to fill in the unclueds; from that page it seems that 3d can end in either an A or an E. Am I missing something?

I don't have that dictionary but Chambers 12th didn't help

Is there something about the theme that suggests that character as opposed to the other one?

Buddy I think she was a 19d

I've opted for -E because that character was involved in quite a major way in the last episode while the other was only short-lived.

Thanks. I don't submit the puzzle so it doesn't really matter, and looking in more detail shows "E" was on longer than "A", so I guess that's what Doc was thinking. Not good to have to guess, however!
