I made the error of putting a vertical bold in the wrong place again.

Demographically speaking, I'd put the crossover between the readers of the Spectator and viewers of this antipodean programme as pretty small, so it's a very daring move by Doc, showing us that he's still got it !

There;s been a lot of nostalgia in the papers, tv etc - so I didn't feel it was too daring. The coverage led to me seeing the theme from the title!

I didn’t realise that you can sign up to the Spectator for free and access the crossword (which I’ve just done). I shall give this a go today.

Stumped by the unclued light at 6a:
I have t?a?i? and it looks like travis, but I can't link it to any other light.

Davidpde, glad that helped. I had lost track of the pairs - well, 'lost interest in the puzzle' might be more accurate! - and couldn't muster up any enthusiasm to check those again.
