Hi Roof
Sorry, but you have several wrong letters.
22 only the O is correct
20d the C is wrong
19d sorry, neither letter is correct

Thanks Roof,

22a - 4 letter "catalogue" + anagram/revised of "note" - definition is "heed" but your T,E and D are wrong.

15d - Yes, First name of 11d minus last letter/mostly + Mr Botham - I still don't get the definition.

20d - Double definition - English hero is an old sailor and it's also a wrestling hold (what can I say, my dad used to like Mick McManus!) Your C is wrong.

19d - 3 letter "success" + 3 letter "knight say" - definition is "slayer" but your letters are wrong which makes me think you've got 18a and 22a wrong.

Glad you had a visit with your daughter and managed to get last week's finished - I'm sure, in time, you'll appreciate it more:-)

Okay, thanks Jono, thanks Chris, I think I see it if you're saying that there has been 6 'theme word' rulers

HI Brendan

Yes, I'd got them both 18ac and 22ac wrong. Thank you I've now got 20 down. I remember Mick McManus!!!

It doesn't help that I haven't got 14d, but at least I know I'd got a letter wrong.

I think I now know 23ac, which just leaves me with the SE corner to mop up. I'll just work on 19d, but my meal is on the table so must go now.

Finished my late dinner and watched the last episode of the very noirish Hidden. I hope there isn't another series. It was unrelentingly dull.

Thanks for all your hints. I've done all apart from 16d and 24ac, but I'm giving up on them. I may have the latter.

Off to do the washing up now and then relax my brain.

Thanks Roof,

A friend of mine told me to check out a German noir series called Dark - she usually had good taste in TV, films and music so was wondering if you've seen it?

Hi Nickih,

16d - Is an anagram of "I've" + 3 letter "dragon up to a (point)" - definition is "mixed"

24a - the wordplay is split 4,2 and the definition is "fire hazard" (one the character at 13a is associated with)
