Thanks Malone. Possibly even more embarassing to fail to see that in the preamble.

Thanks, Turast. Glad you got there (and hope you now appreciate the extra nudge given in my last post?!)

Add me to the underwhelmed. I thought that this one strayed too close to GWIT territory. Still can't see the second unchecked letter at 20 down.

Hi bobbycollins.
Re 20d
I have the crossing letters of 19a 23a 25a 32a and 37a but can't fill in the uncrossed. Hope you get an answer!

Thanks both. Didn't think to consult the BRB, where it is hiding in plain sight!!

Farr, the first unchecked at 20 down belongs to a thematic element of the solution.

I'm stuck with two clues:
15d - Prophet's artistic grandma (5); I have ?ose?
Could be Hosea or Moses. Which and why?

29d - Extra few words on unknown county. (4,3) I have ?s?ch?s

Help appreciated.

15 Moses - a Biblical prophet and also the name of an artist, Grandma Moses.

You didn't give the full clue for 29 D. '...unknown county (43) featuring old butterflies (7)

Psyches, butterflies. PS, extra few words, Y, unknown and Ches(from Ches hire). The answer to clue 43 is Not Half, so you need half of the county.

Thanks for that.
In my defence I have never heard of Grandma Moses, and I thoroughly misread 29D!
