How about SUFFER (PP = very quiet/FF = very loud)

Thanks Dandelion for SUFFER I knew it involved supper but sadly my music knowledge isn't in any way as good as yours. Thanks for the other one too but can't see how you got to SPITE can you tell me please as it helps when you are new to cryptics.

SE = Kent area and dug = pit

On behalf of Dandelion can i say i think it is not a great clue which makes it harder to work out.

I think the reasoning is Kent is in the SE of England and Dug = Pit.
so - S pit E
