Evening all. A good response this week with 26 clues from 14 setters.

Only steve and fiery yet to cast a vote.

Back later with the final result.

(At first glance we could already have a winner but I'll do my spreadsheet and choose a prize)

Likes: pigale@4, heathcliff@5, and always appreciate a pertinent acrostic - rossim@17

Vote: heathcliff@20 - very clever clue.

Hello again, with only fieryjack left to vote we have a clear winner and it is heathcliff with a hefty 6 votes for the very nice #20 -

Whistle-blower at work might possibly be sacked? (6)

Well done on the smooth surface and clever def. "Whistle-blower" was inspired!

Stevea was our runner-up .

Thanks everyone for playing, a high standard on show again.

This week's prize

Well deserved congratulations, heathcliff! Thanks for the fun, bbm. And thanks to chrise, jws, pigale, nemo and spike for the votes - so good to get votes for 4 of my 5 clues! - and again to chrise for the mention.

That's rounded off the day on which I booked our tickets for Rod Stewart in June!

Congrats heathcliff - one of my favourites too. Thanks for the mentions, pigale and nemo.
Thanks for hosting and the clip, BBM2. Wasn't Jim offered a job in Brussels later in that episode?

Yes, well done Heathcliff - for me too, one of my favourites.

Thanks ChrisE and Stevea for the mentions - always appreciated.

and thanks to BBM2, good word. Good clip which brings back
memories of 'Yes Minister' when I living in UK, but don't think I ever watched 'Yes Prime Minister' -

Many thanks, everyone, for your thoughts and congratulations.

My particular appreciation must go to mattrom, ginge, aristophanes, peterm, paul and stevea6000 for their votes. Thank you also to marty for hosting.

Great clip, marty. Yes Minister/Yes Prime Minister is some of the best television the BBC has ever produced, in my opinion; and a clip from any of the episodes is always a most welcome prize. Thank you for such an appropriate choice.

See you all next week.
