One of my favourite writers and my first one in, despite being decidedly bleary after a party. The children's/young adults' Earthsea series are justly popular but The Left Hand of Darkness and the Dispossessed are towering examples of political science fiction, or try the Fisherman of the Inland Sea collection of short stories.
