Oh, apologies Rad, I didn't see your comment before. I'm glad you got your login sorted out. Welcome to the forum !

If I remember correctly, there were no options left for 25a ending in 6 ?

Thank you. I think I have got this cracked but I used Excel which I imagine the setters and editors do not think necessary.

I have got 23a as a p and 23d as an i, agreeing with 31a which is also an i, with two possible answers up to that point.

Incidentally, your posts contain lots of apostrophes, using a symbol which Norah said had been banned! She suggested that that was possibly the reason why my post was not accepted.

Hi Demeter - if my grid is correct 789 is not - but I can see where you are coming from so on the right track.

With you 100 per cent Rad - I cheated (?) by using Excel but only as I am a dunce with Maths (and English) O-level fails. Sure I could've got the same data with pencil & paper but not this year.

Finally finished.

I could have done that in half the time if I'd used a more careful system for keeping track of which properties I'd assigned, etc.

I think I may be missing something obvious. Have much of the grid filled but cant see which property clue 24 possesses.
I assume I have misinterpreted how to calculate one of the properties, or quite likely have made a simple error in calculation.

Hi Smithsax,
I've got it as q, the one factorial but I'm only half way there so don't rely on it.

Thanks - of course. My mistake was in calculating factorial as a sum rather than a product. Maths was never my strong point. I always feel a pang of disappointment when I open my copy of the Times on a Saturday and discover the Listener is a number based puzzle.
