Hi,

I know the answer to 23A is ASBO but I cannot see what it has to do with Australians! Could somebody please explain. I am probably a bit thick.

Bit of a weak clue but Australians = A's and startling = BO...thats how I read it

I did think along those lines but I thought it was BOO! .... but Chambers says that BO is a word to drive geese or frighten children, hence the expression "cannot say bo to a goose"
