You underrate yourself, meursault - I thought yours was better than mine, in fact. I particularly liked the "boreal" bit, and the "gold" was wonderfully misdirecting!

BTW ChrisE, 'Asplenium Septentrionale' looks nothing like the
common ferns I know! Just goes to show how little I know on
the subject!

Yes, pigale - easily mistaken for grass. There are a few that we know where we go to in Italy that we keep an eye on, but we were taken to a site in North Wales (on a lead mine spoil tip) where we thought we were walking on grass, but.....
