Ah, cheers for that Chris, that one had me flummoxed.
I don't remember the Hush Puppies ad, but googled the brand and found their 'air' products. I was amazed at how quickly you had come up with your clue though!

Yes, chrise. It's E as in e-banking (online banking), BONA as you say, and DIR is the dative case of the German du (you), used with, say, zu and mit (it can mean "to you" even with out zu- as in "Dir, dir, Jehovah").

Evening all!
Sorry for the delay and, alas, I must be brief.

Thanks to you all for entering, a bumper crop of cracking clues! Sorry Mr A, but I know next to nothing about Julian and Sandy! FJ had me puzzled for a while @25, a very cunning subtraction anagram! Really liked peterm @19 and ginge @24.
The winner is Ixion @9 with his wonderful letter swap clue,

Inspired in Ilfracombe? Very moving for many, can be breezy (8)

Your prize shows just how breezy it can be Ixion.
Bet it's a good place for selling kites.

Congrats ixion and thanks therogue. I used to play golf with my father just outside Ilfracombe, though not in those conditions!

Just one question....could someone parse ixion's winner for me, please?

Congratulations ixion, cheers therogue.

@ chrise; wordplay is inspired in Ilfracombe? = Devon air.
Very = v replaced by (moving for) b (billions) = many.
