46,
I am probably way out here, but....
Ungulate means hoofed.
The first three letters of ungulate, reversed, spell a mammal.
But I can not figure the English valleys.
Also considered "validate", but can not see why!
46,
A "seladang" is a tapir, a hoofed mammal.
The first five letters, reversed, give "dales" which are valleys.
"Ang", according to Chambers, is an abbreviation for "Anglice", meaning "in English".
Seladang?
Did this puzzle appear a day early somewhere else? I'm just curious as to how many people posted on Friday when I got my copy of the i on Saturday. I've never seen this happen before.
