Tatters, it's better to give the clues - then those without the paper could still help!

31 A. Large pulpit following the Father and the Son (4,2,3)

L = large
Ambo = pulpit
F = following
God = Father
Lamb of God = the Son.

PS My parsing isn't always accurate.

Sure except I knew you would reply within 30 seconds and it seemed unnecessary to spell it out.

Tatters, that's only because I do the Times crossword. If it had been from the Telegraph, the Mail, the Guardian, I'd have liked the clues!

Jazzgirl, I think about 16 wpm would be more accurate! I'm always quick with an answer when I have already done a crossword.
