What is the explanation for 23a Is one left around in park? r?l?c -can only be relic! Sue

Rec is a park, recreation ground. I think it's more an English word - the people in Coronation Street go to 'the red rec', whatever that is! The I is 'one' and the 'l' is left.

Yep, I'm stuck with 6d (8) Capital HQ's. and 13ac (5) Shuts up shops
I have p-e---i-for former and c---s for latter. But maybe I've put in wrong answers to other clues?. Any help appreciated,thanks
