5D How does DIGIT square with 8D?

EiGHT Anag. I GET H (the 8th letter of the alphabet literally speaking)? Is this too strained?

5D Indeed Seamus, 8 is a DIGIT but how does that square with 8D and 3A? I am missing something. This is too Myopsic for me!!

25D is the name of a goddess, but it also a river and a rowing crew. That crew is known as an 5D and the main man (or woman) is known as 8D. Myopic it certainly is this week.

I have finished but can't be certain of 6D. I have the name of a wooden post to which witches were tied, and it's also of concern to a betting shop client. However SHAME also fits and could be what's needed. I might just save a stamp and envelope and get on with the Clootie.

Using eight as the solution for 5D certainly makes it easier to complete the right top corner, but???

5D Seamus I misunderstood that you were proposing DIGIT for solution to 5D. The penny has dropped. You propose it as an derived clue for 5D. You agree with me that 5D is EIGHT as I previously suggested on rowing grounds. By the way I can't see the relevance of 25D which is not referenced directly by 5D except that it happens to be by the by a rowing crew.

25D is just one of the set of themed clues which Myops usually has in the Wee Stinker.

Hi,Seamus.

I wondered if 6D might be SHALE as it's certainly a concern for many at the moment as a fuel. Might be wrong.

Hello Seamus
I've gone with your first one for 6D - the wooden post for burning is matched by a synonym for 'concern' in terms of a business share (Oxford Thersaurus).
