As is ever the case with me when I ask for help on the forum my brain suddenly engages. Once I got 18d and 24ac, there was no stopping me, including 18ac. But I can't parse the answer I've got to 19 down and similarly the second part of 8d. Where does the suit come in?

Chrise, I agree re ordering a 24a. With respect, that's not the point. 11a and 23a (among others) are similarly generic and would also require qualification before ordering. But you don't seem to have the same problem with them. However, this is all rather angels on a pinhead faced with major problems in the world - like the failure of the Guardian to put the AZED up on its site properly!! ;-)
