Annoyingly, I still have 9A outstanding, just two letters missing!
Is it an obscure adventurer/ explorer? My only other one outstanding is 20A, again just two letters missing. Another obscure explorer?

Yes - think of a means of travel

All are particular types of explorer - googling a list of astronauts might help

For 1d I have the expression meaning very much but have no idea where the cake comes in or the rest except the B and the F I guess. Can you explain?
Also I wrote Faith for 21d (belief in female setter perhaps) but that seems wrong and random. Is there a female setter called something like Creed or Tenet?.
