Strange how things come back to you. I made up a clue for embargo about 40 years ago for a friend getting married. His initials were EMB and he was an expert crossword solver. I came across the crossword that I compiled and struggled badly to solve clues I created!

My clue for EMBARGO was

“You get on board old ship but are not allowed to leave”
