can't see the wordplay for hotseat

'H' from HOTSEAT
'V' is 4D Be no longer in sight by way of transport, perhaps (6) VANISH? All other letters I think are correct. Ths v much Terry & Ixion for your replies.

I can't fault "vanish" either.

There isn't much wordplay with "hotseat".
The Burns connection is in the clue. And if you are in the hotseat you are liable to be fired(sacked). It is one of those answers that is clearly right but pretty lame.
