I thought art/est was Biblical language- but that's a subject I know very little about!

Shakespeare used "art" many times.....
Romeo, Romeo wherefore art thou etc.

But I am not knowledgable about Biblical language.

I believe - not from personal knowledge - that some parts of the Bible are very poetic. This verse is definitely not one such part...
