Hi rosalind
I'm currently reading a - so far, rather strange - novel by Iain Pears (a favourite of mine) called "Arcadia". In it, one of the characters describes Rosalind as "the most perfect character in all of English literature".

Thought you would like to know!

Goodness me. Well, I agree, of course! Thanks chris, made my day which is not going well.
The same man who wrote "An Instance of the Fingerpost"? Amazing book

The very same, rosalind. Also a very powerful book, "A dream of Scipio", which I found too sad to re-read.

I first met him through the much lighter "Italian Art Squad" series - my favourite modern detective stories.
