Wow quite a bumper crop this week with 37 clues from 18 setters thank you all for taking part in an intriguing contest.
It won't be possible to mention every little nuance that made me smile or just nod my head in appreciation but here are a few highlights - ab's typically clever brevity @25, theambler's elegance @33. Les @42 with a nod to Agatha, ginge's sublime14 (alerting me to the Americanism!) and ixion's almost perfect 30 and rembler's neat charade @38.
My runner up was stevea6000 @ 27.
However we can only have one winner and although he had a similar effort to steve, I preferred his earlier effort @15.
