Jove (or Picaroon) nods!

Arab statesman's cry of disgust, with damp conditions reported (8)

The unchecked 5th letter is probably intended as A, but there is good evidence that E is a valid alternative!

It is someone from an Arab State. Any idea on 13a Back from theatre , writing about stage accents ?

Yes, I've got the answer, chris - just not entirely sure which spelling to use (I could show you a link - Collins Dictionary - with both spellings, but it would obviously be a spoiler).

13 Accents, as in "stresses", is the definition.

I've completed the grid, but haven't yet parsed 1dn or 9a completely. Taking a break for cooking tonight's curry now.

9a is a cryptic definition and an anagram of 'with anger,' isn't it?
I'm foxed by 1ac. I've assumed that it ends in m rather than t, to make what I take to be the definition. But I can't parse it satisfactorily.

Thanks for 9a, rogissimo. I was being too clever, taking "with" to be just "w".

The more I look at 1d, the more I think that it's just a long and not very cryptic definition. I've ended in "m" too.

Thanks chrise. I think you may be right, and will stop worrying over it

I had the first four letters as 'donate', 5-11 as 'a crazy' and the last letter as 'millions'. But that leaves gaps in clue and word.

Good, rogissimo. IS is the jihadist movement. What a clever clue, in fact!

Rogissimo: As for 1ac, it ends in t.
The first 5 letters are a musical term, defined by 'dominant'. Then, think about one of Clarkson's occupations when he's not/wasn't on TV (think newspapers).

Hi manu
I think rogissimo mistyped, and was referring to 1dn.

What is your opinion on 16d? A true "double"?
