Thanks itsme. There is no clue. The theme involves dogs. ?O?RA is the name of a dog, probably in mythology, but I am unable to find a reference. It's doggone difficult.

Thanks itsme and Sudoulover. I had found Maera as Icarius's dog, subsequently turned into Sirius, the dog-star. I have seen variant spellings of this as Maira, but never Moera. The Brewer online only references Maera, with the 'ae' as a diphthong.
