Despite all the hints I have still not found the 7 cell name for 12d and have no thoughts on the 2nd quotation....... help please!

The 12 is near the top, on the right of the grid. The second quote - 'Is that a ...?', combined with my comment to Nelson might help.

Well I must say that, although I knew the second quotation, which has been repeated in other contexts, I have never heard the "famous instruction", which I had to work back to from the entries! Maybe I am not quite old enough to have seen the films.
