Hi guys,

I had 13 (including 1a)

Still aint getting the two I'm missing.
41a) i - i
34d) - - o
also, still don't get the clue for 'Sei' at 42a (six in Italian)

The reason I said there may be more 'Ninas' is that there's NA going North over 34d
And - the cell holding the clue number 34 has A (north-west) and iN (south-east)

Could you give me some parses now

Oh, Aristo. Always a sly comment ! Of course, I meant about the puzzle.

Then again, maybe Trevor was in the middle of a sex change (-;

I know what you meant, syzzie. I nonetheless found it humorous.

You're no doubt right about the count, but it's remarkable that there are fourteen instances (aside from 1a) in which the four letters appear in the proper order though sometimes left to right and bottom to top and separated by other letters but in the same row or column (not counting diagonals).

Oh! The other is ICI, French for here (in this spot). CI with I (me) in front.

That does spoil the legance somewhat. A little more work in the construction would have tightened it up.

Cheers aristo, so I was ok with sei = 6 but never even looked at 'due'

ICI - Doh! That made my brain ache the other morning
I'll take a look at the link cheers Syzzie

It occurred to me that 41a might involve an Americanism that doesn't affect the parse but makes the wordplay very nice. In our universities 101 is the designation for an introductory-level course, always said "one-o-one". It's commonly used in expressions like "That's just Psychology 101". I'm guessing that you indicate course levels differently over there.

Meant surface read rather than wordplay.
