I've got #1, and I think that I might have #5 too. Some ideas on the others, but no answers yet.

Hi again jolan, "The Listener" appears every week in the Saturday edition of The Times and is generally (but far from it this week) difficult, themed and uses obscure definitions. I've been "hooked" on them since last May but normally (due to their difficulty) rarely get a chance to give them a "decent go" until the Monday or Tuesday.
Now also got #s 2 & 3.

Thanks for these , Jolan. Great as always to have rare free time on a Tuesday to see the master at work. Your cunning is undimmed….
Here is my stab at today's clues-

1. Man’s environment? (3,5,3)- THE IRISH SEA? (Place where the Isle of Man is situated)

2. Arrived, fixed the price outside, then performed with the leading lady (2-7) – CO-STARRED? (Arrived- abbreviation arr, with “fixed the price” – costed, outside gives co-starred, “performed with the leading lady”)

3. Precarious move associated with travel (5,3,2)- TOUCH AND GO? (Move – touch as in emotionally move, and- associated with, go – travel gives touch and go – precarious)

4. Plain ring comes first and not under the bonds of matrimony (9)- DISCOVERT? (Plain – overt with ring - disc coming first gives discovert – in Chambers as “not under the bonds of matrimony”)

5. Dance to a pastoral song (3)- OAT? (Dance is the anagrind of “to a” giving oat- in Chambers as a pastoral song.)
Thanks again.
