So I have all of the answers except the "six symmetrically opposite entries", none of which appears to be a real word. As I read the instructions it is the clues to these which must be "disengaged". But what that means I have no idea. Any hints gratefully etc - I can swap other answers!

and N in11D. And the LE in 10D.

Me, too. I have the R at the beginning of 17d and the E at the end of 16ac. Not sure about the others yet.

Nelson, the B is right but you need another kind of drum around it.

kobnut- as far as I can see all of my 6 clues without definition have the correct word length?

What one do you think has a different length?

32a doesn't seem to be the correct length. I' still struggling with the unclued counterparts.
