I have just downloaded this quiz and would like some help with number 10 - Weight-lifter and bell ringer. What a card! And also number 25 - Not all ore is refined for this game.

Just connected with this forum and have read through the previous posts. Clearly I am being stupid because everyone else seems to have had no trouble with the four that are completely eluding me. They are:
12 Small patrol of men had a game of cards.
17 Boast about getting the ace of clubs.
23 Statesman, old Dan, stumbled and at first tripped onto backside.
24 Two in a close situation in court.
Any, absolutely any, hints or suggestions gratefully received.

Thank you for these. Again help also from my lady - explained the surname to me! Took some time to recognise the Spanish in 17.

When I lived in London I used to play that more or less every day! Why oh why could I not connect?
