I am delighted by the quality and range of this week’s entries (though no-one has referenced my favourite quote – often attributed to the Danish physicist Niels Bohr, but more probably an old Danish proverb – “Prediction is very difficult, especially about the future”).
Several of you picked up on PRIONS – my favourite of these was les40 @15. There were several good “subtractives” too (including a clever “lift and separate” from BBM2 @27 that I needed explaining!); a couple of these were based on PREDILECTION.
My personal preference leans towards simple and concise clues (where has AB been recently?). The most concise was jws @17; this made me laugh out loud, but it seems to lack a definition. Mattrom’s @14 was also very nice. Theambler’s @ 18 was very neat too.
Apologies to those I haven’t mentioned – as I said, the overall quality was excellent.
My choice, however, is the short and efficient bobs mum @2 (the clue is short and efficient, that is; I’m sure bobs mum is efficient, but I don’t know her height!)
