Help please for a couple of clues defeating this old brain of mine this week...17d and 24a.. AND 20d..! (that's more than a 'couple' eh..?)

a) an old criminal (highwayman) who robbed while on foot
b) it protects a corn/bunyon
24a synonym for "fleeting" last letter of glance + synonym for smell(perfume) + synonym for a blade eg a weather ****
20d not flora...the other one

jolly is shown as a synonym for very.
Also jolly (noun) is a good time

I have no idea what the clue to 1down is, but a jolly can be a Royal Marine, too.
