I must say that I'm not envying jws having to decide from this lot - vintage collection of clues!

Quite right Chrise – a quality list of clues this week. I managed to cut it down to just 3 on my shortlist. It was very hard to decide between them. Setting a long word seems to have encouraged the anagrams.

The runners up were
