A homophone of a poss trophy (as stated) with the actual apostrophe placed just before the last four letters in Cup Winner's Cup?

hi mattrom - no problem

the cup-winner's cup was said to be a target- is indicating a sound-alike phrase "a poss [slang for possible] trophy" , but only if you say it in a Ferguson accent .

before reaching the last four - attempts to show the position of the solution i.e placed before the last four letters.

APOSTROPHE (10) Punctuation mark, rhetorical device, e.g. “O death, .....”

Thank you to all those who posted such a variety of good clues.
Thanks also to bernie and chrise for introducing me to the greengrocer’s (or greengrocers’) apostrophe – a phrase I hadn’t heard in Aus.

I particularly liked: the anagrams from rambler @4 and samurite @11, BBM2’s extraction anagram @10 and jws’ Scottish hat @21

As an overall winner, for punch and humour, I’ve chosen jamoza @3(c):

Hes had something removed, but not his colon! (10)

Congratulations! Here are your prizes:

and an oldie from the class of ‘74
