Score century in another part (5)

At present I have ( N _ _ _ I)

However, I should point out that the I is dependent on MATRIMONY being correct for the following clue:-

'Marriage to the listener would be easily broken up'.

I think it is Clue In.Provide with information = Clue in (a bit obscure but i have heard it used, clue me in,clue me up etc)

For "this" is self referential - ie. I am a clue - "this" = Clue
At home = In

I hope this makes sense coz it took me ages to write and make sense to myself.

Hi Trevor, Hi Chris,

I pondered on CLUE IN for over an hour and whilst I realized that at home was the usual Araucarian reference to In, I found this clue was not worthy of his usual high, complaint-free standards.

I can't see anything else so I'll write it in.

Thanks to you both.

I actually think that this is a good clue, once you accept that "clue in" means - Provide with information.
I stopped buying the Guardian a while ago but I still think that Araucaria turned a mild diversion into something special,or at least something pretty.
Gawd bless him and gawd bless the pink faries all around me.hic..
