I can think of quite a few American ladies who have no derriere to speak of!
Being a family history nut or bore, depending on point of view, many years ago I was meeting (for the first time) a far flung cousin. In our family, some ladies have what is politely called a "Sunderland bottom". Not myself, naturally. I saw a small, quite dumpy, woman hurrying away, not where we'd agreed to meet, and I knew from her-um- back view -that she was the lady I was meeting. And it was.
