A reliable firm (6) ?T???Y would that be 'steady'

And

Spurt out when you cut gently into (6) ?P???H would that be 'splash'. Thanks in advance

yeah they are cryptic but the thing is if the answer is 'steady', that would give an 'a' for the other clue which i thought might be splash - ?p?a?h

Hi again.

I suppose upgush could work for the second clue even if it is cryptic ... 'u'/you + 'push'/cut with 'g'ently inside. It's a bit contrived though ...
