Same two for me, I'm afraid. I was trying for ??? URGE S for #2, but it didn't work.

Wow! Now that's really unusual. Ari has three and others have a combo of those three.

#4 is quite gettable, so I'll leave it until I've feasted.

#5 is a bit of an unusual one so I'll assume some of the 'crossers' have been found.

5. Mist enveloping the biker turned out to be of little importance (5,3,4) ? t ? i ? ? t ? ? ? e ? m

i can see a phrase = thanks to chrise - that is (6,3.4) but i've not heard it before, fingers crossed.

Sorry to come very late and appear to bayonet the wounded, but a "staddle" is in Chambers as "a small tree left unfelled" (lumber - saddle +t from rainforest?) and "strike the beam" (thank you Trevor and ChrisE) is part of an old expression meaning to be found wanting and is Steam + an anagram of "the biker"?
