still stuck! I've just had a very stressful afternoon. So thought I would take Mamya's advice and ask for some help, with countrylife cryptic.
Tired and emotional, having put on thick coat? (9) Is this Over something. What has a thick coat to do with the answer?

looks like dressing table, 'Where a woman may make up'
dressing = sauce
table = board.
