I set crossies just for pleasure. I wonder if some of you excellent regulars would like to try a few of my clues? Since they're new, no letters!

I have an answer that I can justify for #3 as well, though I'm not at all sure it is what you have in mind (mine involves a code word).

I have an answer for #2 as well, but it's a bit tenuous - I rather hope it's not right (a bit wince-inducing!)

I think I now have the correct answer to #2 (thank goodness my previous idea was way out!)
