I can see FINITE in the middle. Another is MediTERRAnean. They say Latin has no use!

BTW Chris the cuckoo is in France having flown 2858 miles in about a week. He could be home soon.

I loved Latin at school and later at Uni. The top 2 places in exams were always a fight between another pupil and me. I nearly always beat her !

i only took Latin at skool ;-) because it got me out of doing biology where the teacher and i had a mutual hatred.
it (sorry jazzgirl) definately helps when presented with a word that is new to me.

I am glad I am not the only one to find the Times crossword setter annoying, using one word instead of two, calling certain gem stones prescious when they arent, and my Italian friend was not amused by the coffee clue
