Tried everything I could think of with A BIT, and also tried to use digital. Never heard the expression. You're a tricky one, Jolan. Trust it's a Britishism; never would have gotten it!

Thanks Andy. I try to pick multiple-worded solutions to obviate "thesaurus look-ups" and that's how I stumble on these ones. Ciao!

The only multi word answer I could find to fit was 'quite a few ' but for obvious reasons it didn't parse! I've never heard of devil a bit so would never have got it, especially without any crossers.

Yes Rossim. I'm inclined to agree with you and I'll try to avoid phrases which are "too obscure" in future.

Nevertheless, the answer was in the clue and the phrase is a "head phrase" in Chambers, so it was kinda fairish to use it. I certainly would not have included it had it not been in Chambers.

Sorry!

Please don't apologise Jolan. I was really pleased to have solved two of them. I've only been on this forum for less than a year and realise that you have to stretch the most experienced solvers.
