The "Biggles bits?" is rather loose...refers to the four Johns making up Biggles(perhaps Biggles first bits or bits of Biggles would have been better.

John Graham (Araucaria)
John Halpern (Paul)
John Henderson (Enigmatist)
John Young (Shed)

Collectively "Biggles" when they collaborate on an Xword

Ixion, many thanks. Am just home again and checked in on this. Pleased to say that I got 6 and the link. It was great to see this back again.

PS. The Biggles/John bit was totally wasted on me - I got the link from hearing my granny use the Jock Tamson phrasee.

Hi ixion,

Superb mate. You're right about my missing the bit of wordplay, it was the Biggles Ref, really clever that you incorporated the 4 compilers in the other clues but I'd never known that they collaberated as a team on certain crosswords. All my others 1,2,3,6 & the link are correct so I'm happy about that. Well done to peterm for a clean sweep of correct answers.

Thanks again everyone for having a go and the generous comments, I'll try and rustle up some "B"s using the same format.
