Some of you spotted the inspiration for the word to clue. This week is the last edition of the Dandy, in print. I’ve never got over the demise of The Eagle.

There were some great clues this week. My short list turned out quite long. In the end I came down to just two. I’d like to announce a tie but I know there can only be one winner.

The runner up is tonyw with post 17

The winner is ixion with post 13

Congrats, ixion - great clue.

Thanks for the clip, jws. I'm a fan of Jeremy Hardy, and I remember hearing that when it first went out. I had a ticket to see him in Burnley, but he was cancelled after some remarks he made about BNP supporters (Burnley a hotbed of them). I have seen him since elsewhere, though.

Well done ixion and unlucky tonyw. jws - great clip and brilliant to hear the term 'footpad' again after such a long time it should be used more often. (I also miss the Eagle)

Hi Chris, Jeremy Hardy has been tour around London. I think Richmond was my nearest venue. Originally i looked for a clip of Linda Smith but they were too short or too long. Much missed.
